The New King County (Washington) Flag
In light of the "renaming" of King County described above, I had proposed replacing the current King County flag (a gold crown on a green field) with one depicting Dr. King. I noted as well that other people, notably members of the King County Council, had had the same idea.
In early 2007, the Council finally adopted a new logo, based on Dr. King's image. I have yet to see the logo on a flag, but I suppose it should show up there eventually.
One interesting (?) fact resulting from this: Seattle, King County, and Washington all have seals or logos — and once the KC flag shows up, flags — featuring the portrait or profile of the men after whom they are named.
